More evidence, if more was needed, that the British Government do not represent Britain and is in fact ashamed of our British identity. I received an email informing me of a petition on the 10 Downing Street website: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/RedArrows2012/?ref
It would appear from the petition itself that the world famous Red Arrows has been banned by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport from doing a flypast at the 2012 London Olympics because they are ‘too militaristically British’. The Government of course denies this Red Arrows story, the following is their response to the peition:
"This allegation is not true. The Government has not banned the Red Arrows from the London 2012 Olympic Games. The organising committee of London 2012 will decide what to include in the Opening Ceremony and other celebrations - but with almost five years to go, decisions are yet to be made on what these will look like."
However, people are inclined to believe these stories and take Government statements with a pinch of salt because of the Governments own record of undermining Britain and its institutions and culture. Even though the Government says that the decisions have not yet being made, based on the past deeds of New Labour I am sure that British culture will be underplayed and there will be an abundance of non British displays as we cower in shame at our own national identity. This will surely be done in the name of multiculturalism which is just another mechanism for undermining British values and the cohesiveness of British society. We need to bring people together, and quintessentially British organisations such as the Red Arrows help bring people together into a single British identity. It seems that the very institutions that bring us together as Britons are been undermined and sidelined and those that drive communities apart are actively encouraged and promoted. I predict that the 2012 London Olympics will be a showcase of everything that is not British.
It would seem that the Government has not learned the lesson of gigantic electoral defeat. It tries to blame its pathetic result in the local elections as due to solely to the state of the economy. Perhaps it feels that is something it can blame on factors beyond its own incompetence. The New Labour Government has done a great deal to undermine British culture and society and I am sure that it was this contempt for the British people that was a important source of the reaction of the electorate against socialism. People have been angered by the Government’s unwillingness to live up to its promises. Its decision to sell us down the EU river without giving us a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty despite its earlier commitment to that is a case in point. Will this mean that the very independence of our country is now irrevocably compromised?
New Labour is a Government that appears to despise British culture and the British people who I would say are now completely fed up with the Government’s relentless undermining of our freedoms and way of life. By weakening the very society that it is duty bound to represent, preserve and protect, the Government has incurred the wrath of the British people who now appear to have an understandable desire to boot the Government out of office at the next election. This Red Arrows story is just another example of the Government’s hatred of anything that is British.
Shame on you New Labour!
